A swimming pool on the grounds of a private house or inside it is a real lifesaver in the heat and simply a great investment in quality leisure time. Since summers in Ukraine are becoming increasingly hotter each year, many homeowners are considering installing one at home. An important stage in realizing this plan is choosing tiles for the pool. They play a significant role in the safety of the people who will be using it.

Requirements for Pool Tiles

Modern manufacturers, including “CERAMA MARKET”, offer a wide range of ceramic tiles for pools that meet all the necessary requirements:

  • optimal water absorption level. This indicator is denoted by the letter E and is expressed as a percentage. The optimal value is 0-3% (a maximum of 6% for outdoor use). If the value exceeds the norm, the tile’s performance deteriorates;
  • non-porous tile structure. It does not absorb water or accumulate dirt;
  • anti-slip properties. Today, stores offer three variations of pool tile slip resistance classes:
  1. A – dry areas where the floor slope is 12-18° (path leading to the pool);
  2. B – the area around the pool with a slope of 18-24°;
  3. C – pool edges and steps (descent into the water) with a slope over 24°;
  • wear resistance. Denoted by the PEI index, ranging from I to V. Pay attention to abrasion levels III and IV;
  • chemical resistance. Pool water is regularly treated, and the pool shell and bottom are cleaned with various agents, including abrasive ones. Therefore, it’s important to choose a coating with an A (resistant) or AA (impervious to chemicals) class finish. This ensures that the tile will retain its appearance despite long-term chemical exposure;
  • impact resistance. The pool tiles must withstand the constant pressure of a large volume of water;
  • resistance to UV rays in summer and temperature fluctuations in winter;
  • small size. The most convenient for installation and use is mosaic pool tile measuring 9.8 x 9.8 cm, sold in 30 x 30 cm sheets—ensuring ease and speed of installation and comfort in use;
  • trendy colors. You can order popular blue pool tiles that will perfectly complement your yard’s exterior;
  • adhesive and grout. Both should have a high level of water resistance.

Classification of Pool Tiles

Pool tiles are categorized based on material, size, thickness, and design (shape, color, etc.). The most common material for classic or mosaic pool tiles is porcelain stoneware. It is more durable than ceramic tiles, resistant to stress, impacts, and temperature fluctuations, and has excellent technical characteristics that fully justify its demand.

Regarding size, the manufacturer “CERAMA MARKET” offers the previously mentioned 30x30 cm (9.8x9.8 cm), as well as 20.4x19.8 cm, 11.5x19.8 cm, and 19.8x9.8 cm. The same applies to thickness. Our range includes four universal types of pool tiles with thicknesses of 0.6, 0.7, 1, and 1.5 cm.

The tiles come in only two shapes: square and rectangular. Additionally, elongated special elements with an overflow edge are available for order, which are used to tile the pool perimeter, preventing water from pooling on the surface.

The design is understated. Among the collections available in our store, there are mosaic-style pool tiles with a fine or medium-sized relief grid, abstract four-petal flowers, or a classic smooth surface without patterns.

We select colors that are in the highest demand for pools — white, turquoise, light blue, blue, orange, dark yellow, dark blue, and white-blue. The light blue ceramic tile finish evokes memories of seaside vacations, adding comfort and warmth to the yard. In the “CERAMA MARKET” gallery, you can view photos of completed designs with different tile colors.

How much do the materials for tiling cost? The price of pool tiles ranges from 303 UAH to 2110 UAH for the Color Two collection in various options from the Czech manufacturer Rako.

You can buy all the above-mentioned types of high-quality pool tiles on the “CERAMA MARKET” website. Visit us and make your choice! In our store, you have the opportunity to order original pool tiles in various colors with delivery to any region of Ukraine. We look forward to seeing you.
